NICHOLAS BECK, PH.D.
Dr. Beck, a native of Greenville, SC, completed his undergraduate studies at Clemson University where he majored in psychology. He completed his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of North Texas, where he also received extensive training in sport psychology. Dr. Beck completed his pre-doctoral internship at Florida State University’s counseling center, where he provided counseling, outreach, and on-call/crisis interventions to undergraduate and graduate students. Following his intern training at FSU, Dr. Beck completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of West Florida’s counseling center in Pensacola, Florida. After completion of his licensure requirements, Dr. Beck transitioned into a group private practice setting in Pensacola where he provided a host of clinical services to clients of various ages. These services included individual and couples therapy, psychoeducational / psychological assessments (e.g., ADHD, learning disabilities, and autism), and pre-surgical psychological screenings.
Dr. Beck has received training in a variety of treatment modalities and orientations (e.g., group therapy, biofeedback, cognitive-behavioral therapy, positive psychology, psychodynamic theory). Dr. Beck greatly enjoys the process of working to understand clients, collaborating with them to identify issues and goals, and helping them achieve positive change in themselves, their relationships, and their lives. He is a licensed psychologist in the states of Florida and South Carolina and a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP).
Dr. Beck enjoys spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, playing tennis, traveling, and watching live music and sporting events.
