Katie Clark, LPC-A
Katie Clark was born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina, and completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Clemson University. After graduating with her bachelor’s degree, Katie went on to receive her Master of Education and Education Specialist degrees in Counselor Education with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Clemson University, as well. During her training, Katie gained clinical experience providing services to children and adults of numerous diversities with a range of mental health struggles in a variety of settings, including the Marshall I. Pickens Hospital adult inpatient unit and a private practice in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Katie has also completing training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for her work with trauma populations.
Katie has a passion for working with the pediatric population regarding struggles such as depression, anxiety, life adjustments, low self-esteem, and anger management. Katie emphasizes the importance of giving children and young adults a safe, trusting space where they can feel heard and receive support while navigating times of growth and exploration while using evidence based practices. Katie also enjoys helping create a fun, positive environment where children can enjoy therapy while also making progress towards their mental health goals. Furthermore, Katie values collaborating with clients’ family members to promote the importance of the family working as a healthy system.
In her free time, Katie enjoys attending cycling and yoga classes, reading thrillers, spending time with her friends and family, and taking long walks with her Labrador Retriever, Stella, and rescue dog, Max.
