CAROLYN WATSON, LPC
Carolyn received her Master’s degree in Counseling from Huntington University’s Townsend Institute. She was able to train under Dr. John Townsend, a nationally recognized clinical psychologist and New York Times best-selling author. She also completed internship placements in several settings equipping her with a variety of effective treatment approaches. Prior to graduate school, Carolyn attended Cedarville University graduating with academic honors. While at Cedarville, she competed in Track & Field and Cross Country and contributed to the team’s success at the conference and national level. Additionally, Carolyn was honored by the Ohio Psychological Association for her undergraduate research in eating disorder characteristics among high school athletes.
Prior to joining Vive Greenville, Carolyn conducted group therapy for those pursuing recovery from substance use disorders. She provided individual therapy for adolescents and adults struggling with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and other clinical concerns.
Since joining Vive, Carolyn continues to treat those concerns and has launched Walk & Talk therapy sessions. These sessions seek to support clients in a more holistic way by combing therapy, physical movement, and nature. Carolyn is passionate about helping her clients develop the self-awareness and courage needed to create lasting change in their lives.
Carolyn’s love for running has created opportunities for her to compete at both the collegiate and professional level. Her husband is a former college teammate turned life teammate. In addition to running, Carolyn loves exploring South Carolina with friends and family, walking her miniature Dachshund named Willy, and renovating their fixer-upper.
